About Glow Within by Julie Meikle

In the small town where she grew up, creative careers weren’t widely supported. She explored TV broadcasting and later an Electronic Technician program before eventually finding her way back to the creative work she had always been drawn to.

Studied to become a hairstylist and immediately began working behind the chair, discovering the joy of seeing women transform when they loved their reflection.

Over time, her hands developed severe sensitivity, and she had to step away from hair for a while, but she stayed connected to the beauty world through makeup by working at a salon that carried the full MAC Cosmetics collection.

Julie freelanced as a makeup artist and hairstylist for photographers, film productions, and networks, including ESPN, A&E, The History Channel, and The Biography Channel. She worked backstage at two New York Fashion Weeks, assisted on editorial and commercial shoots, and served as Second Makeup and Hair on A Perfect Fit alongside award-winning artist David Presto.

She became the Business Manager for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in Westfield, New Jersey, receiving advanced training at Bobbi’s Montclair studio and supporting several of Bobbi’s personal appearances. She also modelled for Bobbi during a Today Show segment.

Julie raised her four children while continuing her work in beauty. For years, she worked with MAC Cosmetics and Sephora, managed a Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique, and freelanced for Ottawa’s film and television productions. These experiences shaped the professional artistry and teaching style she brings to her clients today.

She began sharing video tutorials, makeup reviews, and hair tips on YouTube and TikTok, focusing on celebrating and enhancing the beauty of women over 50.

Glow Within was created to empower women through education and connection. Julie teaches makeup as a way to highlight your unique beauty — not to fit into society’s expectations, but to celebrate who you truly are. Through honest guidance, creativity, and a supportive community, Glow Within helps women rediscover confidence and self-expression at every age.
